Red Seal Journeyman Electrician

High Tide Energy is hiring for our Victoria and Nanaimo locations.

Job description

Candidate will be performing electrical work as well as installing photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage systems and EV chargers on homes and businesses. Candidate will be working on roofs, in attics, in crawl spaces, in garages and on the exterior of homes and businesses.

Candidate Qualifications:

• Clean Drivers Abstract

• Live in Victoria area

• Red Seal Journeyman certification, FSR-B certification preferred

• Minimum 2 years Journeyman experience

Candidates must be capable of:

• Working outside in all weather conditions

• Climbing ladders

• Working on sloped roofs

• Using a phone to communicate with solar devices, send/receive files

• Carrying heavy loads (Up to 60lbs/27Kg)

• Working with hand tools

• Applying fundamental electrical circuit knowledge (series vs. parallel, voltage vs. current, batteries, and resistance)

• Having a good understanding of the Canadian Electric Code

• Small to medium commercial experience is beneficial

• Previous experience in the solar industry is a plus

• Provide hand tools and cordless drill

• Have a willingness to travel to locations all over Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Approximately 25% of out of town work.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $38.00-$45.00 per hour
