Community Highlight

Kyuquot

Vancouver Island, British Columbia

High Tide Energy Inc has been given the incredible opportunity to work with the remote community of Kyuquot, a Ka:'yu:'k't'h'/Che:k:tles7et'h' First Nations government located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. This small school district is subject to multiple power outages a year that result in a huge loss of education and work. High Tide has been using solar and Tesla Power Walls to offset the power being pulled from the private energy companies which has proven to significantly reduce power outages, and bring electrical costs down.

Kyuquot Elementary Secondary School

Supply & installation of 67kW flush mounted PV system.
Supply & installation of Tesla Powerwall energy storage system to provide backup power.
Load rebalancing and shedding for increased duration of backup power.
LED lighting upgrade.
Installation of metering equipment for analysis of energy consumption and demand.

Residential and Community Buildings

Replaced electrical services to make each building safe and Canadian Electrical Code compliant.
Worked through all residences and community buildings correcting deficiencies to ensure the electrical was set up safely and was Canadian Electrical Code compliant.
Completed a load calculations for community buildings and dwellings to balance distribution system and transformers.

Community Backup Generators

Supply, Installation & commissioning of replacement community backup generators.
Improvements to community backup generators for reliability.
Provide shutdown and start-up procedures.

9.32 kW Grid Tied

An additional 4.02 kW ballast mounted system was installed on this home in Victoria using CSI 335 Watt modules and IQ7+ Enphase microinverters. This expanded the current system High Tide Energy installed in 2017 to a total of 9.32 kW. Enphase provides homeowners the option to monitor their system real time 24/7, so this home owner can sit back and relax knowing their system is always producing clean, renewable energy.
3.3 kW Grid Tied

A 3.3 kW grid tied, flush mounted PV system was installed by High Tide Energy on this beautiful single family home in Nanoose Bay. This offset their high energy costs and reduced their home's overall carbon foot print.
9.595 kW Grid Tied

This homeowner wanted an upgrade to their PV system, so the Hightide Energy Team went in and installed an extra 5 Canadian Solar 335 W modules on their roof. This increased the overall system to 9.595 kW.
6.7 kW Grid Tied

High Tide Energy installed a 6.7 kW grid tied, flush mounted system on this home in Nanoose. Using the SE7600H-US inverter and P-505 power optimizers, the home owner can track and view their systems production real time 24/7.
System Upgrade

This homeowner wanted to decrease their electrical bills even further, so High Tide Energy went in and supplied an additional 6 CSI-335 Watt panels and 6 IQ7+ Micro Inverters to their roof.
3.96 kW Grid Tied

High Tide Energy installed a 3.96 kW grid tied, flush mounted system in Victoria using Canadian Solar CS1H-330MS panels paired with Enphase IQ7+ microinverters. This offers 24/7 Realtime tracking and the ability to view the production of each individual panel, ensuring their system is always producing.
13.2 kW Grid Tied

High Tide Energy installed a huge 13.2 kW grid tied, flush mounted system on this new home in Nanaimo. 40 Canadian Solar CS1H-330MS paired with 40 x Enphase IQ7+ inverters offer this homeowner a huge reduction to their electricity bill. Furthermore since this system is grid tied, the home owner can take advantage of the BC Hydro Net Metering program. This allows the home to "store" any excess electricity it produces in the grid to use at a later date.
9.9 kW Grid Tied

High Tide Energy installed a 9.9 kW roof mounted, grid tied PV system and two Tesla Powerwalls to this home in Victoria. This significantly reduced their BC Hydro bills and ensures their critical loads are backed up in the event of an emergency.
